The golf shaft’s industry leader in premium, lightweight shaft technology, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, today unveiled an all-new lightweight shaft brand: VANQUISH. The new brand carries on MCG’s lightweight shaft legacy – established with brands like Bassara and Grand Bassara – and solidifies its position as a leader in premium, lightweight shaft performance.
VANQUISH is a collaborative effort between Mitsubishi Chemical Group’s teams in Japan and California. The same engineers in Japan responsible for the legendary Diamana line designed the new VANQUISH product. Cosmetic development was led by the team in Carlsbad, reflecting a truly global, collaborative effort to bring this product to market.
“Lightweight products have always been near and dear to our hearts here and they probably are what we do best,” said MCG VP of Sales and Marketing Mark Gunther. “VANQUISH in particular is so cool because it was actually designed and developed with feedback and testing from several players on the LPGA Tour. When some of the best golfers in the world began gravitating towards it in large numbers, we knew we had a product that could fit a lot of people around the world and we began to work on a plan to bring it to everyone.”
VANQUISH is a lightweight product, available in the 40 and 50-gram weight classes from R2 flex all the way to TX flex. It features an especially robust technology platform with six main pillars contributing to the shaft’s performance:
- Amorphous Wire Technology used in the shaft’s butt section to increase energy recovery in the handle for more clubhead acceleration. This was inspired by high-performance fly-fishing rods.
- Super Low Resin Content Prepreg is used to drive resin content low and carbon fiber content high for the best possible feeling lightweight shaft.
- Proprietary, exotic 46-ton and 40-ton prepregs used to increase strength and stability.
- A uniquely fortified tip section with outer layer material angled differently for tip stability.
- Consistent Feel Design to allow for maximum ease of fitting.
- Precision Crafted Design for extremely tight tolerances in weight and frequency -- ± 1g in weight and ± 1 cpm in shaft frequency.
VANQUISH is the ideal product for golfers trying to add club head and ball speed or stave off natural speed loss. Internal product testing has shown a consistent increase in club head and ball speed numbers with VANQUISH.
