MCA Golf, an industry leader in high-performance golf shaft technology, announces the North American arrival of the Diamana™ Thump™ Iron series. Long a staple of the discerning Japanese golf market, Thump expands Diamana’s legendary wood performance into the iron category, with premium irons shafts that complement, rather than override, a golfer's natural swing.

Diamana Thump is engineered for the golfer who prioritizes feel and feedback. Featuring a mid-high kick point and a balanced stiffness profile that sits comfortably between the iconic Blue and White feel categories, it ensures a stable impact and consistent ball flight. The "Thump" name itself is a nod to the shaft’s premium damping properties; the muted acoustic produced at impact is a result of advanced multi-material construction that eliminates the harsh vibrations often found in high-frequency shafts or traditional steel.

Despite its smooth, classic feel, the shaft utilizes top-tier carbon fibers and reinforced sections to prevent ovaling under load. This allows competitive players to maintain a precise sense of where the clubhead is throughout the transition. The result is improved center-face contact and an effortless, neutral launch with the stopping power required for elite iron play. It is the ideal solution for current Diamana wood users seeking a seamless bag transition or golfers looking for the stability of a heavyweight shaft without the physical toll of steel.

“The real key to the Diamana Thump iron shaft lies in its feel,” says Jason Felicitas, Tour Operations Lead & PGA Tour Representative for MCA Golf. “We use premium materials to build this all-composite shaft, and that allows us to control the torque, feel and bend profile to be exactly what players are looking for. The feedback from golfers in Japan and the players I've worked with here in the U.S. is that it feels very smooth, but also has a lot of stability. The impact feels really good and consistent, and players know where they hit it on the face. When they look up, they see that they generated the correct ball flight for how they made their swing. That's ultimately what you look for in an iron shaft.”

Available starting Summer 2026, the Diamana Thump Iron shaft has an MSRP of $125. The lineup includes shafts in 85g (R/S), 95g (S), 105g (S/X), and 115g (X), as well as a dedicated wedge series in 85g, 95g, 105g, and 115g weights with no designated flex.

Whether you are a low-handicap competitive player or a discerning mid-handicapper, the Diamana Thump delivers exactly what you provide to the ball. Don't expect a soft feel; instead, expect a solid, consistent impact that lets you know exactly where you hit it on the face so you can trust your ball flight on every swing.
